Many children in low income families go to school hungry. In Uganda, one in every four children is stunted due to poor nutrition. Critical issues with chronic and acute under nutrition and micronutrient deficiencies persist in many communities due to low food production and broken food systems. Hungry children cannot grow or learn. The devastating effects of hunger on child health, school performance, and ability to learn significantly hinder their overall productivity and potential.
Rozmary Rapport foundation food for education program provides meals to vulnerable school children from poor families who always afford one meal a day in their homes. With the aim of improving nutrition and education outcomes, our program gives children the opportunity to break out of the poverty cycle.
